Tuberculosis and Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB)

In November 2008, the National Leprosy and Tuberculosis Control Program (NLTCP) collaborated with Tiyatien Health and the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative, with support from Partners in Health, to diagnose the first cases of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis in Liberia, through performing drug sensitivity testing (DST) for patients at TB Annex (Monrovia).

TH is providing technical support to the National Leprosy and Tuberculosis Control Program to develop an MDR-TB response plan.
