DonateSupport the Work of Tiyatien Health
Every donation, no matter how large or small, helps us sustain and expand our work to deliver life-saving health care to those who need it most. You’re just a few clicks away from making a profound difference in someone’s life. Donate any amount or choose a gift below.
$1 per day for one year ($365 total) -- supports the rebuilding of a model world-class health system in rural Liberia. Join our Partners Circle which seeks to prove that a community-driven initiative can rebuild a model world-class health system in the poorest corner of one of the world's poorest countries -- war-torn Liberia.
$20 -- fairly compensates a community health worker for one month. Community health workers form the backbone of Tiyatien Health's health and social services. One of the largest employers in southeastern Liberia, TH employs over 50 community health workers (so-called "accompaniers") to provide home-based health and social services, including delivering medications, refering ill people to the health center, and raising awareness about health and disease among the most vulnerable communities. $20 pays the salary of one community health worker for one month.
$25 -- protects five children from contracting malaria. Malaria kills over one million people each year. Bednets are a proven way of preventing mosquitoes, the carriers of the disease, from infecting those who sleep under them. $25 will buy 5 nets for children living in some of the areas most devastated by malaria.
$60 – improves access to antiretroviral medications for one year to one HIV patient. Every year more than 3 million people die from AIDS. Our HIV Equity Initiative -- the first community-based and largest rural HIV care program in Liberia -- has revolutionized access to life-saving HIV treatment, or antiretroviral medications, for Liberia's rural poor. $60 will allow us to continue to sustain the HIV Equity Initiative and provide access to HIV treatment for our over 300 women, children and families living with AIDS.
$200 – buys supplies for five patients to start small businesses and rehabilitate farms. Our efforts do not end at treating disease. We believe that eradicating poverty is the only way to end the vicious cycle between poverty and disease. As our patients health improves, we give them tools to break the poverty cycle by restarting to restart businesses and rehabilitate their farms. $200 provides supplies and training for 5 patients to set up small businesses to support themselves and their families
$1800 – provides salary support for our doctors and clinicans. After war, only 50 doctors remain to serve Liberia's 3.5 million people and only 1 doctor serves over 300,000 people living in our region. Supporting the salaries of health worker is an effective way to increase access to healthcare in rural areas. $1800 would support the salary of our current clinical staff for one month and hire new doctors.
$10,000 – helps to rebuild a maternal and primary healthcare center in River Gee County. This year, 1 out of 16 Liberian mothers will die unnecessarily due to childbirth. In River County, a region of over 60,000 people, mothers deliver their babies on the floor. We believe it is a human right for a mother to carry and deliver their babies in a safe and healthy environment. $50,000 would bring us much closer to rebuilding a comprehensive primary healthcare center focused on maternal and child health in River Gee County's war-abandoned hospital.
???– big or small, give the amount of your choice. We can guarantee it will go a long way toward bringing health and hope to the lives of our patients and thier communities.
